Passover Roundup

I am hosting Seder tonight for Passover, and my house is falling apart. In the past week my stove broke, my toilet broke, and the mystery shower leak is getting worse. Also, people around here are still wearing clothes and eating stuff, so there are lots of laundry and dishes in addition to these other hassles.

Thus, crafting has been put on the back burner. Again. :)

So here are a few things to make your Passover more enjoyable:

1) Plagues--we make these fun at Seder by using the masks my mother-in-law sent a few years ago:

My sister also sent me a link to making your own plague symbols. If the kids get bored while you are cooking, this might be a good distraction:

2) Matzo Toffee! Having an egg allergy at Passover is a tough one, but my son LOVES this quick and easy dessert. So does everyone else who tries it.

Here is the basic recipe. I add a generous pinch of Kosher salt and vanilla extract after turning off the heat. I also use extra chocolate chips on top.

3) iManishtanah--This $0.99 app was recommended by my friend (who was also my son's Sunday School teacher at the time). It will help your child learn the Four Questions, and as a bonus doubles as a fun voice recorder that will occupy hours of time. At least it did for my kids. :)

Happy Passover and Easter, friends!
